The one thing

It runs itself, because there is nobody to run it

There is no controller to log into and no software on a laptop in the office. The configuration lives with us; if a unit loses power it comes back with the same settings. When something does need attention we see it before the owner does, because every access point reports in. The only thing anyone on site touches is the guest list on the splash page, and that is a text box.

Three more worth having

Customised splash pages

Your name, your photograph, your house rules — and it picks the guest’s language from their browser.

Ask for the review on the morning of departure, when the stay is still fresh.

Customer surveys

Two questions on the splash page tell you more than a comment book nobody signs.

Which hardware path

Path 1 — likely yours
We supply MikroTik

Access points and a router, shipped configured.

Path 2
Keep your hardware

One MikroTik goes in front of what you run today.

Path 3
On the move — Teltonika

Dual-SIM routers for vehicles.

Small properties almost always start from the router the ISP left behind, so we send the hardware.

What it costs at eight rooms

Three access points cover a converted house: one in the hall, one upstairs, one at the pool. There is no minimum spend beyond that and no per-guest charge.

Guest house, 8 rooms
3 APs
R750/mo

A site outside hotels runs to at most 10 APs and 80 concurrent users, billed no more than R1,500 a month.

"We are too small for something like this."

At eight rooms this is R750 a month, which is less than a single cancelled booking. What it buys is the thing that makes people book again: WiFi that works in the far bedroom, a welcome page with your name on it, and a review request that goes out on its own. Properties this size are the majority of what we run.
